Indie Film: Rigodon

I really had a hard time looking for the perfect Indie Film to watch. Aside from youtube and other sites, when I enter Indie Films in the search bar, the search results are always man and woman naked and stuffs. I would like something touchy but not a lousy movie in the first part. Rigodon was the first movie I have watched,

it tells about Sarah (Yam Concepcion) is recovering from a painful breakup when she meets would-be artista Riki (John James Uy). Riki offers her some kindness, and she soon falls for him. The two begin a passionate sexual relationship. But unbeknownst to Sarah, Riki is already married to Regine (Max Eigenmann). The movie shifts focus between the three characters. As Sarah grows more and more enamored with her new beau, Regine grows suspicious of her husband. Meanwhile, Riki struggles to keep his lies straight as his career and his life just fall apart.

My classmate said, Rigodon in only about sex, so I have to replace it. I watched Mayohan and any other non-sexual movies but I can't see moral lesson and interesting movies with them. So my last choice is Rigodon.

Film Analysis:

The elements in this movie based on the WOTL (Word of the Lourd), are the following:

1st part: It was directed and story by Erik Matti. The story is good and it relates the Filipino community nowadays most especially for the teenagers. The camera is unsteady and the focus for every scene in this movie is not that good. There are circumstances that there are no lines are to be delivered but only music and some sort of movements. The voice overpower by music. The budget is I guess not that tight for this movie because the materials used and their who characters played their role. Also, there are limited characters for this movie. The audio mixing is not the good.

2nd part: On the second part, there was a girl who was madly in love with the guy he met in the club. Then without knowing the background and history of that guy, they had their one night stand. After that, they used to see each other and keep doing that all over again. There this guy, who has secret or maybe trying to seduce this girl just to have money. He was broke and has a family. The guy was before a model who won 4th placer at a starfactor. Due to his, age and wrong pronunciation of tagalog terms he was not given any project.

Last part: For the last part, there is a subtitle in the film, in English. The lines are well coordinated with the subtitle. Also, in the last part f Rigodon, there was taong-grasa appeared outside the car of the guy and his wife saying "Andito ka lang pala, Kanina ka pa hinahanap". The actor to this film was not that good in acting but he has nice body and it says it all. Also he was less known but I guess he was experienced in making indie films not comparing to Coco Martin. He looks good in this kind of film.
